Rain In Jakarta, Deputy Governor Riza: No Reports Of Inundation Yet, Especially Flooding

JAKARTA - Jakarta has been raining since the afternoon until the evening. Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria said that until now he had not received a report regarding the inundation point.

"Alhamdulillah, even though it is raining, based on flood monitoring, there is no significant inundation. So far, we have not received any reports regarding inundation or flooding," said Riza at City Hall, Wednesday, October 27.

Riza hopes that the rains that will come in the future will not cause flooding. This is because, he said, the DKI Provincial Government is currently promoting flood management programs such as Mud Gerebeks and infiltration wells.

"Hopefully in the future with existing programs such as dredging the Mud Gerebek, building reservoirs, infiltration wells, and others, we can reduce inundation and avoid flooding," he said.

However, this afternoon, it turned out that there was a puddle on Jalan DI Panjaitan, Cawang, Jatinegara, East Jakarta. Due to the flood, one section of the road could not be crossed by vehicles because of the 50 cm high inundation. As a result, traffic jams stretch from the direction of PGC Cililitan to Tanjung Priok.

In fact, a number of two-wheeled vehicles broke down when trying to hit the flooded areas in the area.

Meanwhile, at 18.00 WIB, the DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) announced that the water level of the Fish Market Floodgate was currently on alert two. The height of the floodgates currently reaches 208 centimeters.

In addition, there are three floodgates that are in a state of triple alert. Among them are Angke Hulu with a water level of 150 centimeters, Cipinang Hulu 150 centimeters, Sunter Hulu 170 centimeters.
