7 Ministries And Institutions Receive Assets Worth Hundreds Of Billions Of Rupiah From BLBI Obligors And Debtors

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD said assets taken from obligors and debtors by the Task Force for Handling State Claims for Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance (BLBI) will certainly be utilized by the state to the fullest.

In fact, he said that there are seven ministries/institutions that are trusted to manage the assets of these obligors and debtors with a value of hundreds of billions of rupiah through the determination of use status (PSP).

"We determine the use of the BNN, BNPT, Police, Ministry of Religion, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Finance, and BPS with a total value of Rp.791.71 billion," Mahfud said in a press conference broadcast on the YouTube of the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Wednesday, October 27.

"So what we have obtained is to determine the status of use," he added.

In addition, Mahfud also said that there was a property asset grant to the Bogor City Government worth Rp345.73 billion.

"What we get (from obligors and debtors, ed) we give there. Anyway, everything is for the interest of the state, not for individual interests," said the former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK).

Previously, Mahfud had explained that the BLBI Task Force had succeeded in handing over money to the state treasury of up to Rp2.4 billion and US$7.6 million.

Then, this task force has also succeeded in blocking 339 collateral assets and blocking the shares of 24 companies belonging to BLBI obligors and debtors.

Next, there is also an extension of rights to 543 certificates spread across 19 provinces and controls 97 plots of land spread across Jakarta, Medan, Pekanbaru, Medan, Tangerang and Bogor with an area of 5,320,148.97 square meters.
