Student Dies After Menwa Training And Education, UNS Surakarta Forms Evaluation Team, This Is Their Job

SOLO - Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta formed an evaluation team after one of its students died while attending the Student Regiment Basic Education and Training (Diklatsar Menwa).

"UNS formed an evaluation team regarding the implementation of the Menwa Education and Training Center or the Standby Student Corps Unit 905," said UNS Deputy Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs Ahmad Yunus in Solo, Antara, Wednesday, October 27.

The team will coordinate with the campus to obtain data or information, both from trainers and participants in the 905 Alert Student Corps Education and Training Center.

"What is certain is that from the autopsy, we are still waiting for the official results from the police. We will receive the results and will discuss it together with the police. We will leave this issue to the police whether it is alleged violence or an ordinary accident," he said.

On the same occasion, the Director of Academic Reputation and Student Affairs at UNS Sutanto said that the campus was making quick actions related to data retrieval.

"Currently, the students are already in the BAP at the police, the entire committee has taken their statements. We are also trying to get facts on the ground according to the committee's confession," he said.

Regarding the demands from the community and campus for the incident, he said that the campus would respond by forming an evaluation team in accordance with campus rules.

He said the evaluation team consisted of legal elements, medical elements, active figures in fostering student organizations (ormawa), active in ormawa and now serving as deputy dean of UNS.

"In addition, the administrative element. We will limit this evaluation team as soon as possible so that they can get ahead of the police to get an evaluation and recommend the results to the leadership to further impose sanctions on the ormawa," he said.
