Expeditionary Truck Thief In Tanah Abang Arrested, Truck Taken To Indramayu
JAKARTA - The Tanah Abang Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit has arrested two truck thieves belonging to an expedition service on Jalan KH Mas Mansyur, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta.
The theft occurred when the two suspects with the initials K (45) and S (36), had been monitoring the unit since the previous day.
"It has been monitored that the truck has finished working around Magrib. This truck is parked around the expedition office yard, indeed there is no fence," said the Head of Criminal Investigation at the Tanah Abang Metro Police Commissioner Haris Akhmad to VOI, Wednesday, October 27.
The two perpetrators have been monitoring the surrounding situation. In fact, there is no internal security.
"So they are quite free to commit theft by damaging the door lock and the keyhole for the steering wheel," he said.
The stolen truck was taken away to West Java, they were going to Indramayu.
"Losses of 1 unit of truck reach hundreds of millions. This (truck) belongs to one of the expedition companies in Tanah Abang," he said.
As a result of their actions, the two perpetrators were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code concerning theft with weights.
