JAKARTA - The Jakarta Customs and Excise Office confiscated 190 used smartphones of various brands from a businessman from Batam with the initials PS. This case file has also been transferred to the East Jakarta District Prosecutor's Office regarding customs crimes for hundreds of illegal devices.

The suspect and all confiscated smartphones along with cash from the sale of Rp.61.3 million have been submitted to the East Jakarta District Prosecutor's Office for processing for violations of Article 103 letter d of Law Number 17 of 2006 concerning Customs
In addition to submitting evidence and the suspect, the Jakarta Regional Office of Customs and Excise also handed over the assets or income of PS confiscated during the investigation stage, and will be counted as collateral for payment of criminal fines in the context of restoring state finances (dhanapala recovery) consisting of IDR 500 million in cash, a house worth IDR 1.5 billion, and a bank account worth IDR 50 million.
