North Sumatra DPRD Members Escaped KPK Detention Because Of The Results Of The Reactive Rapid Test
JAKARTA - A member of the North Sumatra DPRD for the 2009-2014 period, Nurhasanah - suspected of receiving bribes - escaped from detention by the KPK because the results of the rapid test were reactive.
"For one other suspect, N (Nurhasanah), based on the information we received after he concerned, the reactive results were also obtained," said KPK Investigation Director, Karyoto through a press conference broadcast on the KPK RI YouTube account, Tuesday, July 28.
Due to this condition, the KPK then decided to reschedule Nurhasanah's detention. It's just that the time hasn't been determined yet.
Although he did not detain Nurhasanah, the KPK still detained two members of the North Sumatra DPRD for the 2009-2014 and / or 2014-2019 periods, Hosein Hutagalung and Mulyani. The two of them were detained in different remand centers, namely the KPK Prison Pomdam Jaya Guntur Branch and the KPK Detention Center at the Red and White House.
"The two suspects were detained for the first 20 days starting from July 28, 2020 to August 16, 2020. Before being detained, the KPK ensured that both of them had followed health protocols to prevent transmission of COVID-19," said Karyoto.
It is known that the KPK has detained 11 members of the North Sumatra DPRD for the period 2009-2014 and / or 2014-2019 who allegedly accepted bribes with amounts ranging from Rp. 377.5 million to Rp. 777.5 million from former North Sumatra Governor Gatot Pujo Nugroho. This detention was carried out last Wednesday, July 22.
This bribe was given in connection with the approval of the North Sumatra Provincial Government's accountability report for the 2012-2014 budget by the DPRD of North Sumatra Province; approval of amendments to the Regional Budget of North Sumatra Province for the 2013 and 2014 fiscal years by the North Sumatra DPRD; Ratification of the North Sumatra Provincial APBD for the 2014 and 2015 fiscal years; and rejection of the use of interpellation rights by the DPRD of North Sumatra Province in 2015.
Previously, the KPK had also processed 50 elements of leadership and members of the North Sumatra Provincial DPRD for the 2004-2009 and / or 2014-2019 periods.
All the suspects are currently serving their criminal sentences after being convicted by the Medan Corruption Court with an average sentence of four to six years.
