Was Mistaken For A Doll When Walking Down The Ditch Looking For Eels, This Cianjur Resident Was Shocked That It Turned Out To Be A Baby Girl's Body
CIANJUR - The police are still chasing the perpetrators of dumping the baby in the ditch which caused a stir in the residents of Cikondang Village, Bojongpicung District, Cianjur, West Java. The body of the baby girl was found by residents who were looking for eels.
The Bojongpicung Police Chief, Iptu Eriyanto, said that until now his party is still pursuing the perpetrator who is suspected of deliberately throwing the body of a baby who had only been born a few hours into the ditch.
"We have asked for witness statements and are chasing the mother who threw the baby into the ditch. We cannot conclude whether the baby is the result of an illicit relationship or not," he said in Cianjur as reported by Antara, Tuesday, October 26.
The baby's body was first discovered by a resident who was walking down the ditch to look for eels. At first the witness thought it was a doll. But after being confirmed closely then he reported to other residents.
"I was walking down the ditch to look for eels, after a few steps I saw a baby's body which I thought was a doll. When I got closer, I was sure it was a baby's body, so I told other residents," said Odep (40), a resident who found the baby's body.
He suspected the poor baby, was thrown away after a few hours of birth. The perpetrators are not local residents because the disposal site is close to the main inter-district road. The road is quiet at night.
"It's possible to throw it away when it's quiet at night, so no one can see who threw it and when. If it is suspected, it is possible that outsiders deliberately dumped the baby in this ditch," he said.
