DKI DPRD Will Call Dishub, Ask For Clarification On Transjakarta Deadly Accident
JAKARTA - Chairman of the DKI DPRD, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi, said that his party would summon the Head of the DKI Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, to ask for an explanation regarding the accident of two Transjakarta buses that resulted in death.
This summons will be made in a meeting of Commission B of the DKI DPRD with the DKI Transportation Agency on Wednesday, October 27 tomorrow.
"As for Transjakarta, I will call the Transportation Agency at Commission B to ask for an explanation as to why this happened," Prasetyo told reporters, Tuesday, October 26.
Prasetyo considers that the Transjakarta bus collision incident must be thoroughly investigated. He suspects that the bus operator control management has not been carried out properly.
"If it is controlled properly, this will not happen. Then, maybe the police will check what the problem is, the investigation," said Prasetyo.
In addition, the Chairman of Commission B of the DKI DPRD, Abdul Aziz, said that his party would also summon PT Transjakarta officials. In tomorrow's meeting, the DPRD will question the executive regarding the chronology to the factors that caused the accident to occur.
"Many factors could have caused the accident. Was it human error, in terms of the driver, or there were signs of inappropriate traffic, or poor road conditions, it could also be that the brakes failed due to routine maintenance that didn't work. These are many factors. which we have to clarify to them," explained Aziz.
In addition, the DPRD will ask for a detailed explanation regarding the handling of accident victims. The DKI Provincial Government will be asked to explain about the insurance that covers the medical expenses of the victims.
Until, the mitigation efforts that will be carried out by the DKI Provincial Government are to prevent accidents from happening again. Aziz said this meeting would be held at the Grand Cempaka Hotel, Puncak, Bogor, West Java.
"This meeting is not in the council building, yes, but in Cisarua. Coincidentally, Commission B has a meeting to discuss the budget in Cisarua tomorrow. So, before the budget meeting, we will call it," said Aziz.
For information, the accident of two TransJakarta buses occurred on Monday, October 25, early in the morning. As a result of the accident 33 people became victims. In which, two of them died and 31 people suffered minor and serious injuries.
The accident began when a Transjakarta bus was stopped to drop off passengers at the Cawang Ciliwung Bus Stop. Suddenly, a bus from behind hit a bus that was stopped at a bus stop.
