Deadly Collision Of Two Transjakarta Buses, PDIP: Something Is Wrong In The Management
JAKARTA - Member of the PDIP faction of the DKI DPRD, Gilbert Simanjuntak, regretted the accident between two Transjakarta buses that killed three people yesterday. It is suspected that the accident occurred due to a failed brake on the bus.
Gilbert saw that this incident opened Pandora's box regarding the condition of PT Transjakarta management which was considered to be mismanaged.
"It is very unfortunate that a Transjakarta bus collided from behind. From this incident, we learn that there is something wrong in the administration of DKI," Gilbert told reporters, Tuesday, October 26.
Gilbert views that people should have peace of mind when using Transjakarta buses. Because, this BUMD is a high public service obligation (PSO), which is around Rp. 3 trillion per year from people's taxes.
He said, public services in the transportation sector are things that are really needed by the community. Moreover, this has been included in one of Anies' promises since the 2017 Piigub DKI campaign era.
"Unfortunately the achievement of the target in the transportation sector according to the campaign is far from expectations. With the current UMR DKI, transportation subsidies should be followed by good facilities and infrastructure, as well as good service," he said.
Therefore, he urged DKI Governor Anies Baswedan to conduct an internal investigation regarding the operational management of Transjakarta.
"This incident must be investigated thoroughly and openly, its causes and solutions. Is there a reduced bus maintenance, resource management factors that must be tightened including routine drug tests, and future solutions," said Gilbert. For information, two TransJakarta bus accidents occurred on Monday, October 25, morning. As a result of the accident 39 people became victims. Where, two of them died. The remaining 37 suffered minor and serious injuries.
The accident began when a Transjakarta bus was stopped to drop off passengers at the Cawang Ciliwung Bus Stop. Suddenly, a bus from behind hit a bus that was stopped at a bus stop.
The front of the Transjakarta Jakarta bus that crashed from behind was damaged, as was the condition of the back of the Transjakarta bus which was stopped at the Cawang Ciliwung Bus Stop.
