Task Force: For A Week There Were No New Cases Of COVID-19 In Tanjungpinang, Riau Islands
TANJUNGPINANG - The Tajungpinang City COVID-19 Handling Task Force, Riau Islands, stated that since a week ago there had been no additional new cases of COVID-19.
The Coordinator of Health Protocol for the COVID-19 Handling Task Force, Tanjungpinang Surjadi, said that there were only four active cases in the capital city of the Riau Islands.
"Tanjungpinang is heading for zero active cases," said the Head of the Tanjungpinang Regional Planning, Research and Development Agency, quoted by Antara, Monday, October 25.
Surjadi said that the central government set Tanjungpinang as Level 2 for the Implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM). However, in the daily report on handling COVID-19 published by the Ministry of Health, Tanjungpinang Level 1 PPKM.
"Tanjungpinang, like other regencies and cities in Riau Islands, is designated as a yellow zone or moderate risk of transmission," he said.
Surjadi said the number of recovered patients in Tanjungpinang increased by two to 9,812 people. Meanwhile, residents who died from COVID-19 are now rare in Tanjungpinang.
The total number of COVID-19 patients in Tanjungpinang since the pandemic has reached 10,218 people.
"The total number of people who died due to COVID-19 was 402 people," he said.
Surjadi explained that the community's social and economic activities had started to return to normal. Kindergarten, elementary and junior high school students have also participated in a limited face-to-face learning system since October 4, 2021.
"Alhamdulillah, it went smoothly. However, teachers and parents still have to remind students to strictly implement health protocols," he said.
