42 Sukabumi Residents Poisoned After Eating Chicken Meat And Egg Noodles, Taken To Health Center

SUKABUMI - Dozens of residents in Sagaranten District, Sukabumi Regency, West Java, had to be rushed to the local community health center (puskesmas). They were suspected of having food poisoning in the form of boxed rice distributed by the committee during religious activities.

"Temporary data, there are 42 residents of Babakansirna Village, Cibaregbeg Village who are suspected of having been poisoned after eating the boxed rice package distributed by the religious event committee on Sunday, October 24," said Head of the Sagaranten Health Center Sudarna to reporters in Sukabumi, reported by Antara, Monday, October 25. .

According to the information gathered, initially dozens of residents who ate the boxed rice dish containing rice, egg noodles and chicken meat did not experience any symptoms of poisoning, but on Monday, October 25, one by one, they started complaining of nausea, dizziness and vomiting.

Even the number of residents who experience symptoms of poisoning continues to grow until now, with a total of 42 people. Residents who did not experience poisoning without being commanded provided assistance to victims by evacuating them to the health center.

Of the 42 poisoning victims, 28 people experienced mild symptoms and were allowed to go home or outpatient, but if the symptoms worsened, they should immediately come back to the puskesmas for further treatment.

Meanwhile, 14 other people had to be given an intravenous drip and were hospitalized at the Sagaranten Health Center because their body condition was weak due to loss of body fluids and still experiencing nausea, dizziness and vomiting.

"We are still coordinating with other officers from the Sukabumi District Health Office and the police from the Sagaranten Police to find out the cause of this mass poisoning. However, it is tentatively suspected that dozens of residents were poisoned by eating the boxed rice that was distributed during religious events," said Sudarna, adding Meanwhile, the Head of the Cooperation and Public Relations Section of the Civil Service Police Service of Sukabumi Regency, Okih Fajri, said that all victims had received medical treatment and received examination and treatment from health workers.

However, it is possible that until Monday night the number of residents who experience symptoms of poisoning after eating the boxed rice package will increase, because the victims did not arrive at the same time.
