Director Rust Says Alec Baldwin Is Very Careful With Guns
JAKARTA - Actor Alec Baldwin is still in shock after accidentally shooting cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the film Rust. Following the investigation process, director Joel Souza raised his voice when he saw the unfortunate incident.
Launching the New York Times, Souza explained Baldwin was doing rehearsals for gun-related scenes. He said Baldwin used a gun at the camera when he accidentally fired the bullet.
While at the scene, Souza said the shot was very fast. However, they have made sure these firearms have been checked before being used.
Souza noticed Hutchins starting to grab hold of his midsection and blood trickling down his shoulders. Hutchins was shot in the chest and the incident was not recorded.
They also did not experience conflict while on set. Baldwin and Hutchins were also good friends.
Meanwhile, Alec Baldwin spoke up about the shooting incident on Friday, October 22. "There are no words to express my sadness and shock at the tragic event that took the life of Halyna Hutchins," Baldwin said on Twitter.
“I fully cooperate with the police investigation to address this tragedy. My heart breaks for my husband, their son and everyone who knows and loves Halyna."
