Manchester United Trying To Keep Pogba, Real Madrid Waiting For The Moment
JAKARTA - English Premier League club Manchester United is rumored to be continuing its efforts to keep midfielder Paul Pogba even though the French player's contract expires in the summer of 2022.
Quoted by Antara from football-espana, Monday, until now there has been no latest development regarding Pogba's contract extension with Manchester United.
Negotiations over a contract extension between Pogba and Manchester United did not go ahead, efforts by Spanish giants Real Madrid to get the 28-year-old player were unsuccessful.
Manchester United are reportedly making a final push to secure an extension with Pogba before the end of 2022 with Real Madrid halting their own plans as a result.
Should Manchester United fail in their bid to secure an extension with the former Juventus star, Real Madrid could make a pre-contract offer for him as early as 2022.
Pogba has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford having previously hinted at his intention to move away from English football.
It was previously reported that Pogba has an option to extend his contract at Manchester United. However, that doesn't seem to happen following the Red Devils' recent unstable performance.
Pogba joined Manchester United from Juventus in the summer of 2016 for a transfer fee of 105 million euros or around Rp. 1.7 trillion.
During his time with Manchester United, Pogba was recorded to have made 210 appearances and managed to contribute 38 goals and 49 assists.
