Ministry Of Health: Keep Distance When Slaughtering Sacrificial Animals

JAKARTA - Director of Health Promotion and Community Empowerment of the Ministry of Health, Riskiyana S Putra, appealed to the public to keep their distance when slaughtering sacrificial animals on Eid al-Adha 1441 H.

"The distribution of animal meat should be carried out by the committee, sent to the recipients, so that there will be no crowds," said Riski as quoted by Antara, July 28.

Riski said, the appeal of the Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Doni Monardo who is also the Chair of the COVID-19 Handling Task Force so that sacrificial animals are slaughtered in animal slaughterhouses, is quite good.

According to Riski, through slaughterhouses, slaughter of sacrificial animals will be more controlled and in accordance with the provisions of the Sharia and the Ministry of Agriculture.

"It's better in the slaughterhouse, not just anywhere, so that the waste can be more controlled," he said.

Facing Eid al-Adha 1441 H, which is usually busy with Islamic prayer activities in congregation and the cutting of sacrifices, Riski said the Ministry of Health had made various socialization efforts and appealed to people to avoid crowds, keep wearing masks, and wash their hands with soap and running water.

"The movement of people from one slaughterhouse to another slaughterhouse should also be reduced to reduce one's interaction with more people," he said.

Eid al-Adha, which falls on Friday, July 31, also needs to be anticipated because it causes a long holiday weekend, so there will likely be a flow of homecoming.

"We have put up banners containing messages to socialize health protocols in 20 rest areas towards Central Java. People who carry out the Id prayers are encouraged to bring their own prayer tools, keep their distance, and wash their hands," he said.
