Just A Spare Ban For Ferland Mendy At Real Madrid, Marcelo Wants To Return To His Hometown To Fluminense
JAKARTA - Full-back of La Liga giants Real Madrid, Marcelo reportedly wants to leave Los Blancos in 2022 to join Brazilian club Fluminense.
Quoted by Antara from football-espana, Monday, Marcelo still has a contract with Real Madrid until June 2022 but is starting to consider canceling the deal in order to leave in January.
According to a report from El Nacional, Marcelo is said to have informed Real Madrid president Florentino Perez about his interest in his former club in Brazil, Fluminense.
Marcelo's desire will not be blocked by Florentino Perez, but can still be blocked by coach Carlo Ancelotti who may want his experience in the next half season.
Marcelo's reason for leaving Real Madrid is allegedly because he is currently not the first choice in the Los Blancos squad after recovering from an injury he had previously suffered.
The 33-year-old is currently only a cover for Ferland Mendy and has previously expressed his willingness to play a squad role.
Marcelo is currently listed as a player who has played for Real Madrid for a very long time since his arrival from Fluminense in January 2007 and has made 530 appearances and scored 38 goals for almost 14 years.
This season, Marcelo can only make two appearances in the Spanish League and Champions League and recorded only playing for 23 minutes after struggling at the start of the season with a muscle injury.
