Foreign Aircraft Enters Simalungun Sky Directly Chased By YTP Raider 100/PS Starstreak Missiles

JAKARTA - Last week, the Raider 100/PS Battle Team Battalion (YTP) troops were surprised to hear the sound of foreign fighters approaching their combat training concentration area at Dolok Panribuan Complex, Simalungun, North Sumatra.

The plane, which has not yet been identified, continues to maneuver, strongly suspected of conducting reconnaissance. Aware of the dangerous conditions, the Commander of YTP Raider 100/PS moved swiftly to coordinate with the reinforcement units and ordered the commanders of the front troops to be alert and to continue to observe.

Not long after, the plane was identified as belonging to the Andara State. "Weasel" (a term for foreign fighter aircraft) was getting closer to the position of the YTP area. Even the observations will fire missiles so that the YTP Raider 100/PS Commander immediately asks for fire assistance from the air defense unit.

Through radio communication, the Commander of YTP Raider 100/PS asked the Commander of Yonarhanud 13/PBY to carry out an 'air shield' against the disturbance of the Andara Republic's “Musang”.

Without waiting long, Yonarhanud Missile 13/PBY had already prepared the air defense equipment. And immediately fired a Starstreak Missile of the MMS (Multi Mission System) type.

In the next second, it was clearly visible in the air that the Starstreak missile, which is one of the advanced missiles belonging to the Indonesian Army's troops, slid and chased the "Weasel" of the Andara Republic.

In just an instant, the Starstreak Missile had trailed behind Andara Republic's "Weasel" who was trying to evade and trying to escape.

However, the cruising speed of the Starstreak Missile was so formidable that the Andara Republic's "Weasel" couldn't match it, so it was shot and instantly shattered into pieces.

All of these incidents are scenarios in the YTP R-100/PS combat drill exercise which was held in the past few days, as quoted in a written statement on the explanation of Kodam I/BB, Sunday, October 24 yesterday.
