Anies-Pepen Officially Extends Bantargebang TPST Contract Worth Rp379.5 Billion

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan and Bekasi Mayor Rahmat Effendi (Pepen) signed an extension of the cooperation agreement (PKS) for the processing of the Bantargebang Integrated Waste Processing Site (TPST) between Jakarta and Bekasi City.

The extension of the Bantargebang contract worth IDR 379.5 billion will be carried out over the next five years. The previous Bantargebang contract will expire on October 26, 2021.

"We have just signed an extension of the cooperation agreement between the DKI Provincial Government and the Bekasi City Government. This is an extension for the next 5 years while we are in Jakarta completing waste management in DKI," said Anies at City Hall, Central Jakarta, Monday, October 25. .

Anies said the Bantargebang collaboration was a collaboration of two neighboring regions, Jakarta and Bekasi, to control environmental impacts while at the same time providing benefits for each of its citizens.

"Especially at this time, we hope that the extension of the Bantargebang TPST period can be a long-term solution, while reducing the impact on the surrounding environment," said Anies.

Continuing, the Mayor of Bekasi Rahmat Effendi (Pepen) is grateful for the extension of the management of the Bantargebang TPST.

"In these difficult conditions, we were able to resolve the problems in the cooperation and carried out under very extraordinary conditions. Hopefully this will provide value for the community in Bantargebang," explained Pepen.

For information, the signing of the extension of the Bantargebang cooperation was witnessed by the Director General of Regional Administration of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Syafrizal.

The scope of cooperation with the Bekasi City Government includes compensation funds; revision of reliable RKL/RPL documents; assessment of the carrying capacity and capacity of the environment, routes and timing of waste transportation; monitoring and evaluation of utilization management; waste disposal and collection; waste reduction technology innovation; until the process of terminating the TPST Bantargebang Bekasi City.

Meanwhile, the scope of compensation in this agreement includes the prevention of environmental damage; environmental restoration; health and medical expenses; compensation in other forms in the form of direct cash assistance; to direct cash assistance and death coverage (policy) for residents affected by the Bantargebang TPST; and others.
