JAKARTA - The Gerindra Party asked the Ministry of Home Affairs to coordinate with the Ministry of Transportation and the Ministry of Health to address the polemic of the obligation to test PCR as a condition for using air transportation modes.
This also addresses the basis for the emergence of the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri) Number 53 of 2021 concerning PPKM Levels 3, 2 and 1 in Java and Bali. Has the Ministry of Home Affairs communicated and coordinated with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Transportation? Is this the result of the COVID-19 Task Force or what? Do not then give birth to new polemics,” said Member of Commission V of the House of Representatives from the Gerindra Faction, Novita Wijayanti, Monday, October 25.
Novita asked the ministry led by Tito Karnavian to immediately evaluate the Instruction of the Ministry of Home Affairs that had been issued. This, he said, is so that there is synchronization with the authorities, both in the health and transportation sectors.
"I ask for a re-evaluation of the Ministry of Home Affairs. The new-normal policy must be adjusted between sectors," said the treasurer of the Gerindra faction.
"At the same time, I ask that the PCR test be adjusted according to its function, for a COVID-19 diagnosis tool, for screening, it is enough to only test the SWAB antigen. Moreover, for flights, vaccines are required at this time. We place them accordingly," he continued.
As a working partner of the Ministry of Transportation, Novita added, Commission V of the DPR is concerned about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the aviation sector.
“We at Commission V are starting to enjoy seeing the report from the Ministry of Transportation, especially in the aviation sector. For 1.5 years, the aviation sector has been hit the hardest by the pandemic," said Novita. The legislator from Banyumas revealed that the impact of the pandemic on the aviation sector was very large. Starting from the reduction of airline employees and airport officers, to MSMEs and travel services that went out of business. Where it affects areas that rely on tourism, such as Bali and Lombok. Therefore, Novita reminded, inter-ministerial ministries must be able to look holistically when making policies. Do not let, he said, the policies taken are actually backward steps in an effort to encourage economic revival of the country.
