Able To Train Hundreds Of Thousands Of MSMEs, Anies: So Far, We Have Been Serious In Providing Access To Capital Of More Than Rp500 Billion
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) assisted by the Jakarta Entrepreneur (Jakpreneur) program must be able to take advantage of opportunities.
Anies said the COVID-19 pandemic was an opportunity for MSME players to be able to pioneer business ideas from scratch in a new way.
"Entrepreneurs are characterized by always being able to see opportunities in adversity, negative ones always see narrowness in opportunities. We really hope that at this event, we can give awards to those who can be examples," said Anies when giving a speech at the Appreciation Night event. Jakpreneur Fest 2021 at the Mandiri Museum, West Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Monday, October 25.
The Appreciation Night for Jakpreneur Fest 2021 is a form of appreciation from the DKI Jakarta Government to MSMEs who have provided the best ideas for the Jakpreneur Fest 2021 business competition activity.
Announcement of the Best Jakpreneur in 2021 and appreciate MSMEs with good performance while in the implementation of the Integrated Entrepreneurship Development program through the Jakpreneur platform.
Jakpreneur Fest 2021 is one of the efforts of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to increase the potential of MSMEs, especially the MSMEs that have started their business activities through the Jakpreneur Integrated Entrepreneurship Development Program which has been implemented since 2017.
Anies hopes that this activity can reward MSME actors who can be an example for other entrepreneurs to always develop their business with positive energy.
"Tonight, we are not only showing individuals who are examples because of their work, but their optimism, hard work, tenacity, that's what we want to give appreciation for," said Anies.
The influence of MSMEs in Jakarta has a very large portion of 18 percent of the national gross domestic product (GDP) contributed from Jakarta, which recorded 98.8 percent of which came from MSME actors.
Because 98.8 percent of the 1.1 million business actors in DKI Jakarta are micro and small scale businesses.
"Even though they have relatively small businesses, the economic portion is very large. Imagine 1.1 million businesses, 98.8 percent of which are small and micro," said Anies.
As a result, when the pandemic disrupted supply and demand aspects in the business sector, the economy in Jakarta also contracted in the second quarter of 2020 to 8.3 percent, so that MSME incomes were also reduced by 70 percent.
Therefore, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government made a breakthrough through the Jakpreneur program by providing business development facilities through the stages of registration, training, mentoring, licensing facilitation, marketing facilitation, financial reporting facilitation, and facilitation of access to capital.
"The 4r given to micro-enterprises. Then we issued micro and small business permits (IUMK) there were 147,759 IUMKs issued. It is hoped that they will have access to capital, not only do they come but we come to us to collect data, we give the permits," said Anies.
Through this program, the DKI Jakarta Government seeks to increase the business scale of MSMEs or "class up MSMEs" by carrying out quality-oriented activities with indicators of turnover, assets, and employment.
In addition, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has also carried out large-scale social collaboration (KSBB) which has succeeded in reaching more than 120 collaborators to be directly involved in economic recovery.
Anies said that the MSMEs fostered by Jakpreneur were not allowed to grow alone, but needed training assistance by MSME collaborators in 44 sub-districts throughout DKI Jakarta.
"So what we are doing is mentoring and training. Thank God we have trained 176,000 so they can be more competitive, and 155,000 have been assisted directly. Hopefully, they (MSME players) can have new techniques. Learn from breakthroughs by other business actors, " said Anies.
