2 Fishermen In Bali Survived When Their Boat Caught Fire In The Middle Of The Jembrana Sea

JEMBRANA - A fishing boat or jukung caught fire in the middle of the water. Two fishermen who were in the jukung were rescued.

The coordinator of the Jembrana Search and Rescue Post, Bali, Dewa PT Hendri Gunawan, said that his party received information that the jukung boat experienced an electrical short circuit and caught fire in the waters of Melaya, Saturday, October 23 evening.

"The incident was reported by Mr. Kamaruzaman as Perbekel of Pengambengan Village to Basarnas last night at around 23:00 WITA," said Dewa Hendri, Sunday, October 24.

The fishing boat was named Jaya Guna and departed from Pengambengan Fish Pier, Jembrana, on Saturday, October 23 at 17.00 WITA for Pacemengan Waters, Banyuwangi, East Java.

However, after traveling about 21.5 km, the boat with two fishermen named Takroni (50) and Hairul (50), residents of Ketapang Hamlet, Pengambengan Village, shorted and caught fire.

Through this information, the SAR deployed six personnel to conduct a search using a rubber boat. However, not long after receiving information from the Pengambengan Headquarters, the victim was rescued while holding on to the boat's seat in the Pengambengan Waters at around 04.00 WITA, Sunday, October 24.

"The victim is in safe condition. At 6:45 WITA, two victims had arrived at Pengambengan Pier and were immediately taken to their house," said Dewa Hendri.
