Commemorating The 250th Anniversary Of Pontianak City, People Unfurl The Red And White Flag 100 Meters
JAKARTA— Commemorating the 250th anniversary of Pontianak City in West Kalimantan Province, a number of people carried out a unique activity. They unfurled the 100-meter-long Red and White flag on Sunday, October 24 in the Kapuas River Waterfront area.
The Pontianak City Government held the event with the Indonesian Elderly-Pre-elderly Fitness Community (KLPI).
According to the Mayor of Pontianak Edi Rusdi Kamtono, there were about 300 people involved in the raising of the Red and White Flag to commemorate the 250th anniversary of Pontianak City.
"We must collaborate and synergize, of course we appreciate this activity, especially the elderly participants," he said.
The Mayor of Pontianak said that the commemoration of the anniversary of the City of Pontianak should be used as a momentum to intensify development.
"The 250th Anniversary of Pontianak City is a momentum for the Pontianak City Government and all stakeholders (stakeholders) and the community to continue to build even in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic that is still engulfing this country," he said.
He invited all residents to participate in efforts to build Pontianak City and maintain environmental conditions.
"Let's care about the environment, we build Pontianak City to be more advanced so that in time we can be equal to other big cities in Indonesia," said Edi.
