Had Left Behind, Finally Sassuolo Beat Venezia 3-1 At The Mapei Stadium

JAKARTA— In the continuation of the match week ninth of the Italian League, Sassuolo succeeded in smothering Venezia 3-1 at the Mapei Stadium, Saturday, October 23 local time (Sunday WIB). While in the early match Empoli also brought home the full three points from Salernitana headquarters.

In the match at Mapei, Sassuolo had left behind earlier than Venice. Yet they appear to dominate the game from the start. But the Sassuolo goal broke first in the 32nd minute after Ethan Ampadu's breakthrough bait was completed by Okereke to put Venezia in the lead.

However, Sassuolo was able to come back to turn things around and return to winning ways after falling in their last two matches. Evidently, five minutes later Sassuolo immediately managed to score a reply through Domenico Berardi's left foot flick using a pass from Hamed Traore.

Sassuolo then took the lead in the 50th minute after their corner ended in an own goal by Venezia striker Thomas Henry.

The advantage was added by defensive midfielder Davide Frattesi who burst into the penalty box to meet Giacomo Raspadori's pass in the 66th minute.

Sassuolo was able to maintain the 3-1 score until the final whistle sounded and Alessio Dionisi's team pushed up to 12th in the standings with 12 points. Meanwhile, Venezia, who failed to add to their eight-point collection, was stuck in 16th.

In another match that took place earlier at the Arechi Stadium, Salernitana had to admit Empoli's lead 2-4.

The four goals against the bottom team were born in the first half through Andrea Pinamonti's left-footed strike, Patrick Cutrone's right-footed shot, Stefan Strandberg's own goal, and Pinamonti's second goal which converted the penalty.

Salernitana hit back through Luca Ranieri's goals and Ardian Ismajli's own goal early in the second half, but failed to continue the momentum and had to return empty-handed for the second game in a row.

Empoli, who returned to winning ways while pushing up to 10th position with 12 points, while Salernitana remains at the bottom of the standings with four points.
