9-Year-Old Boy Disappeared In Tangsel Angke River Flow

TANGSEL - A girl with the initials P (9) disappeared in the Angke River in Lengkong Gudang Timur, Serpong, South Tangerang (Tangsel). According to witnesses, the little girl slipped and fell while playing.

The incident was reported to the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) at around 15:00 WIB.

"The information was that he was playing, slipped and fell and was carried away by the river. Indeed, the current was stronger," said the South Tangerang Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Rapid Response Team, Asep (49), Saturday, October 23.

Officers are trying to find points where the boy's body might be stuck. However, until late in the evening, the sweeping by a number of personnel had not yielded any results.

"We are searching for a distance of 500 meters, until the bridge from where he fell. It is estimated that there are many obstacles on the sides of the river, so hopefully it gets stuck there," he said.

The officers checked the river bank several times. Even to make sure again, the officer had time to dive under a pile of twigs while groping at the bottom of the river.

The information gathered stated that before falling into the Angke River, the victim was playing with his friends at the location at around 14.00 WIB. Suddenly the victim intended to wash his hands, then descended to the river through the edge of the sheet pile.

Knowing that the victim had fallen into the river, his friends then ran towards the settlement and informed the residents. Then residents came to the location and forwarded the news to BPBD officers.

"The distance from this third bridge to the settlement is not bad, maybe around 100 meters. It won't take long before we come here. We hope that we will meet quickly," said AS, a local resident.

Officers from various agencies, such as BPBD, police, Satpol PP, and firefighters came to the location to comb through several river flow points. Several personnel were seen plunging into the water, while others were looking from the rubber boat.
