Jurgen Klopp Wins Best Manager Award
JAKARTA - Liverpool's success in winning the Premier League for the 2019-2020 season cannot be separated from the hard work of coach Jurgen Klopp. The League Managers' Association (LMA) named the man from Germany as the best manager.
Liverpool won the Premier League for the first time in 30 years with seven games remaining. They finished with a difference of 18 points above second place Manchester City.
Klopp beat Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa, Wycombe Wanderers manager Gareth Ainsworth and last year's winner Chris Wilder of Sheffield United to claim the Alex Ferguson Trophy after the former Manchester United manager.
"I am delighted to be crowned the winner of this extraordinary Sir Alex Ferguson Trophy which is named after a person I really respect," Klopp was quoted as saying by Antara.
"Everything we achieved at Liverpool this year would not have been possible without great input from my coaching staff; they made us into a really special group of football brains."
"I am delighted to work with my coaches, my players and everyone at LFC and, of course, I thank the support of all of our amazingly great Liverpool fans," concluded Klopp.
