The Man Who Marries The Teenage Victim Of Stepfather Rape Is A Suspect

JAKARTA - The police have named Baharuddin (44), a man who married a teenage girl who was a victim of stepfather rape as a suspect.

"According to the results of the case title, Baharuddin has been named from witness to suspect," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Pinrang Police, South Sulawesi (Sulsel), AKP Dharma Praditya Negara, when confirmed by VOI, Monday, July 27 evening.

Baharuddin was named a suspect under Article 288 of the Criminal Code. This article regulates the matter of intercourse with a woman who is known or reasonably suspected that the person concerned has not yet been married.

"The threat of imprisonment for 4 years," said AKP Dharma.

Previously, the police had named the rape victim's stepfather as a suspect. "The person concerned has been detained," he said.
