Strict Order Of The National Police Chief And Propam Quick Action To Handle Cases Of Alleged Troubled Police In A Number Of Areas
JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has firmly ordered his staff to take action against police officers who violate the law. The police chief stressed that it is important to take action so that the police do not act arbitrarily.
The order of the Chief of Police is addressed to all Kapolda and Kapolres so that they do not hesitate to give strict sanctions in the form of criminal or Disrespectful Dismissal (PTDH) to personnel who do not carry out their duties according to the rules.
"Strict action is needed. So please don't take long, remove it immediately, PTDH, and criminal proceedings. Do it immediately and this will be an example for others. I ask that Kasatwil not have doubts. When in doubt, I take over," said Sigit to the ranks via video conference at the National Police Headquarters, South Jakarta, Tuesday 19 October.
The National Police Chief said that the actions of unscrupulous members of the police who violated the rules damaged the dignity of the police institution. It has also hurt the hard work and commitment of the Bhayangkara Corps personnel who have worked optimally for the community.
Sigit gave an example of the hard work and struggles of positive members of the National Police by working hard to handle and control the COVID-19 pandemic. Starting from ensuring the distribution of social assistance is right on target, accelerating vaccination and ensuring health protocols (prokes) are running well.
Therefore, Sigit hopes that strict action against police officers who violate the rules can provide a deterrent effect. Given, the behavior of these individuals has the potential to reduce public confidence in the Police, which has been getting a positive trend.
Now there are cases of alleged police problems. What is certain is that Propam will act decisively to investigate and take action if the person concerned actually violates the rules.

East JavaA police officer with the initials ABS was reported by the widow of the police officer with the initials AT, 34, to the East Java Police Propam. The woman from Trenggalek reported that the Police Brigadier A was not responsible for the fetus she was carrying.
"I have tried my best to ask him (A) to be held accountable. However, my phone number was blocked, so I reported it to the police for legal action," said AT, confirmed, Friday, October 22.
AT said that she was the widow of a police officer who served in the Trenggalek Police Satreskrim, but her husband died about three years ago. Meanwhile, Brigadier A served at the Trenggalek Police Traffic Unit.
AT claimed to have known A for about 1.5 years. However, AT admitted that he had only been dating A for seven months, in March 2021 to be exact.
"At first I didn't want to, but ABS promised to marry me. In March 2021, my heart melted after being approached, and close like husband and wife. Even whenever ABS had a fight with his wife, he always came to my house," he said.
AT said, A's persuasion often lulled him. Almost every day ABS never miss the opportunity to meet at his house.
"Even when it was time for the night watch, he disappeared and came back to my house. He said he didn't like it if he didn't see me, until I finally got pregnant," she said.
AT then tells A that she is pregnant. Instead of being responsible, Bripka A actually asked AT to abort the fetus she was carrying for four months.
In the first report, AT admitted that he had been mediated by the Police. As a result, Brigadier A wants to take responsibility by marrying her. This was also stated in a statement letter, which was signed by Bripka A.
"In the statement, he (ABS) stated that he wanted to be responsible for marrying my siri, and had made a statement. He even stated that he was ready to be fired from his service if he broke his promise," he said.
Bripka A's promise seems to be just a promise, because there is no clarity. AT then decided to report to the East Java Police Propam. The reason is that the report to the Trenggalek Police Propam for the second time, went in place.
Confirmed separately, the Head of Public Relations of the East Java Police, Kombes Gatot Repli Handoko, stated that the report had been received and would be investigated first by the Propam Bid of the East Java Police.
"Propam is still investigating it. Later I will also check with the Trenggalek Police," he said.
