Optimistic To Become A World Champion, Alvarez: I Am A Complete Boxer, Aggressive, Can Counterattack
JAKARTA - Saul "Canelo" Alvarez is optimistic that he can beat Caleb Plant to become world champion in the super middleweight (76.2 kg).
Alvarez and Plant will fight for the four major titles in a duel that will take place at the MGM Grand, Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas, on November 6, 2021.
Alvarez comes with the WBA Super, WBC and WBO, while Plant holds IBF title holder status.
Reported by Antara from the official WBA website, Friday, Alvarez this week conducted an open training session. He showed the media about his preparations under the guidance of his coach Eddy Reynoso.
"I'm a complete boxer. I can do things in the ring. I can be aggressive, I can counter-attack, I can move," said Alvarez.
Alvarez and Plant had previously been involved in a war of nerves. In fact, the moment of fistfight had colored the first press conference at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, Beverly Hills, on September 22, 2021.
Alvarez also said the duel would be a fight full of drama throughout his professional boxing career.
"It's very different than usual, and it's definitely the biggest animosity I've ever had with an opponent before a big fight," said Alvarez.
The 31-year-old boxer also boasted that he could beat Plant before the eighth round.
"The first few rounds will be tough, but as the fight goes on, I'll be able to get him out of there," Alvarez said.
"I don't need to say anything more to Plant. I will be ready to face him in the ring on November 6," he concluded.
