Use Sidewalks And Parking Lot For Sales, Street Vendors In Mataram Often 'Cat-Cat' With Satpol PP

MATARAM - The Satpol PP of Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province, has brought down dozens of perpetrators of abuse of public facilities such as sidewalks and parking areas at a number of strategic points in the city.

"Real data on dozens of perpetrators of abuse of public facilities (fasum) are in the Civil Servant Investigator (PPNS) and currently recapitulating," said Head of Mataram City Satpol PP Irwan Rahadi when met at the Mataram Mayor's Office, in Mataram, Antara, Friday. , October 22.

He said that the perpetrators of the abuse of public facilities were mostly located in trading areas such as Jalan Panca Usaha, Jalan Catur Warga, Jalan Panjitilar and the Ring Road area.

"The perpetrators of the abuse of public facilities are usually street vendors, who use sidewalks and parking areas," he said.

However, he said, in controlling activities, officers were often invited to "play cat and mouse". This means that when the officers come they back off or don't sell at public facilities, but when they leave they come back again.

"Therefore, we still ask that the perpetrators of the misuse of public facilities be cooperative, so that our members do not take disciplinary action," he said.

According to him, before controlling the perpetrators of public health abuse, members of the Satpol PP first gave warnings and warnings up to two times. "If it is not heeded, then we take action," he said.

In addition to controlling the perpetrators of public utilities abuse, the Satpol PP is also active in monitoring indications of the establishment of business premises that violate the provisions and building public facilities.

If it is found that there are development activities that violate, the Satpol PP cooperates with the relevant technical regional apparatus organizations (OPD) to stop them.

"After being stopped, they were asked to demolish the building even though there was a building permit (IMB). Thank God, on average, building owners who were deemed to have violated wanted to demolish independently after two warnings," he said.

Furthermore, Irwan, who previously served as Head of the Mataram City Investment and One Stop Integrated Service (DPMPTSP), said the government's policy of implementing licensing with the OSS (Online Single Submission) system made it very easy to issue permits regardless of location even though it was a public space.

However, business actors who have received permits forget that in the OSS permit there is a point that states that if the building violates the provisions, one of which is public space, it can be processed according to the law.

"Therefore, when the IMB is issued, the entrepreneur must issue the public facilities according to the provisions. Don't look for people to take advantage of the public facilities, let alone rent them out," he said.
