JAKARTA - Indonesia U-23 national team goalkeeper Ernando Ari said he and his colleagues were ready to face Nepal in a test match at Hisor Central Stadium, Dushanbe, Tajikistan, Friday.

"We want to get the best results against Nepal. The important thing is that we can play according to the coach's wishes," said Ernando, quoted by Antara from the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) page.

The 19-year-old goalkeeper also said the condition of the U-23 national team was in good condition. The coach of the Indonesian U-23 national team, Shin Tae-yong, has also provided material and motivation so that his foster children perform optimally.

"Currently, my condition and my colleagues are getting better and are ready to face the next test match. Coach Shin Tae-yong continues to provide motivation and what materials we must improve in the team," said Ernando Ari.

The test match against Nepal is part of preparations for the 2022 U-23 Asian Cup Qualifiers.

In the previous friendly match, the Garuda Muda squad defeated the host Tajikistan 2-1.

In the 2022 U-23 Asian Cup Qualification in Tajikistan, Indonesia is in one group, Group G, with Australia, China, and Brunei Darussalam.

However, China and Brunei Darussalam decided to withdraw from the competition so that Indonesia would only play Australia on October 26 and 29, 2021.

"Our big target is to beat Australia to qualify for the 2022 U-23 Asian Cup," concluded the Persebaya club player.
