Gifts From The Minister Of Sandiaga, Free Staycation For Healthcare Workers And Health Facilities
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Tourism and Creative Economy Agency has prepared an appreciation program aimed at health workers (nakes) and supporting staff for health facilities (faskes) handling COVID-19.
This is a form of government appreciation for health workers and health facility support personnel who are currently and have been treating COVID-19 patients, as well as in the context of national economic recovery, especially the tourism industry.
The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, in his remarks at the 'Minister of Greeting Health Workers COVID-19', hybridly at the Harris Vertu Harmoni Hotel, Thursday, October 21, explained that one of the programs prepared by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/ Parekraf is a free staycation for health workers.
"As the COVID-19 graph slopes, we invite health workers to take advantage of the staycation program currently being prepared by the Ministry of Tourism, especially from the Deputy for Marketing," said Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno in a written statement.
Sandiaga explained that the staycation program is part of the tourism industry reactivation program through the provision of accommodation, other supporting facilities, as well as transportation facilities for health workers and personnel supporting health facilities handling COVID-19 in Indonesia.
He mentioned that this reactivation activity has a multiplier effect, namely an increase in hotel occupancy by 40 percent, so that it has the impact of re-hiring employees who have been laid off, both from the hotel industry and land transportation modes.
"In addition, this activity is also expected to increase the involvement of workers both directly and indirectly in industrial reactivation activities of approximately 8,600 people. And an increase in Regional Original Income (PAD) from the hotel accommodation sector and land transportation originating from corporate taxes," said Sandiaga.
The Deputy for Marketing of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Nia Niscaya, said that health workers and health facilities supporting staff who later wanted to take advantage of the staycation program had to attach a letter of recommendation from the hospital.
"So, the Minister conveyed that health workers and other health facility support personnel must be extremely tired of dealing with COVID-19. The Minister said that it is like the health workers and health facilities that we give awards for staycations. So we ask for help from the hospital to provide a list of names health workers who can receive this award from Kemenparekraf," he said.
Acting Director of Human Resources for Education and Research, Dr. dr. Trimartani, Sp ENT-KL(K), MARS, expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy for providing accommodation, facilities, and transportation facilities for health workers and health facilities supporting personnel handling COVID-19.
"Alhamdulillah, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy has provided a refreshing place for health workers and health facilities supporting staff. Hopefully the help, attention, and love will be doubled for all friends," he said.
