BANDUNG - PT PGN is collaborating with West Java Provincial Government BUMD, PT Migas Hulu Jabar (Perseroda) (MUJ) regarding the use of natural gas for residential, commercial and industrial areas.

PGN as Pertamina Gas Subholding and MUJ work together to be able to assist in expanding the distribution of natural gas. So that customers will increase in other areas through the integration of PGN's infrastructure with MUJ.

Then, the two will also jointly develop the provision of natural gas-fueled power plants, as well as converting operational vehicles in West Java to gas-fueled (BBG).

PGN Director of Sales and Operations Faris Aziz said, West Java is one of the biggest contributors to PGN's gas trade. Then, there is a natural gas distribution network that is connected to the South Sumatra transmission network.

PGN's customers in West Java are located in the areas of Depok, Bogor, Bekasi, Karawang and Cirebon. The total number of PGN customers in West Java is around 78,536 customers with a volume of gas usage between 246 BBTUD.

"The development of natural gas utilization is also expected to contribute to increasing investment and regional income in West Java," said Faris. President Director of PT MUJ Begin Troys said this collaboration was also in line with the plan to change regional regulations related to the formation of MUJ which is now encouraged to expand the business sector.

"In the amendment to the MUJ Regional Regulation, the upstream sector is encouraged to expand its business fields," he said.

He said that through this collaboration, his party and PGN have the potential to work on opportunities for the development of a wider gas network in West Java.
