F1 And NBA Collaboration: Launches Land Jets With Basketball Costumes
JAKARTA - The United States basketball league NBA and Formula 1 (F1) announced a content and promotion partnership to unite the global fan base of the NBA and F1.
The partnership is part of celebrations for the NBA's 75th anniversary and F1's return to the US at the 2021 United States Grand Prix to be held on Sunday, October 24 in Austin, Texas.
As quoted by Antara, to commemorate the US Grand Prix and the 75th Anniversary of the NBA, exclusive appearances of F1 land jets in custom liveries representing 30 NBA teams will be released on NBA and F1 social media worldwide, with the first 10 cars featuring the Central Division and Pacific. The Division was inaugurated today.
On this day, ESPN will host F1 drivers to battle off the track in a half-court free-throw challenge with the NBA's 75th Anniversary theme at the Circuit of the Americas paddock.
NBA legends will be there to meet the racers and provide shooting tips as they compete to score the freest throws out of 10, as well as compete for $20,000 to donate to the winner's chosen charity.
The 2021 Formula 1 United States Grand Prix, which will run from October 22-24, 2021, will be held at the Circuit of The Americas. The track, which is in Austin, Texas, first hosted F1 in 2012.
F1's return to the circuit will also be the first time after a two-year break due to COVID-19.
Meanwhile, the NBA has built a broad presence through games and programs available in 215 countries and territories in more than 50 languages, as well as merchandise for sale in more than 100,000 stores in 100 countries on six continents.
