Adian Napitupulu: BUMN Is Not A State Intelligence Agency Whose Recruitment Is Hidden
JAKARTA - PDI Perjuangan politician Adian Napitupulu has asked the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) to be open regarding the election of directors and commissioners in BUMN. This is because the public has the right to know the system for accepting commissioners and directors in state-owned companies.
Moreover, he said, so far the state has spent a budget of Rp 3.7 trillion per year to pay the directors and commissioners.
"What is covered? What is hidden? What is hidden? Why should it be closed if it is open. BUMN is not a State Intelligence Agency like the CIA or M16 whose recruitment process is secret. Stop playing as if BUMN is a Mission Impossible film," said Adian in his statement. he wrote quoted Sunday, July 26.
Adian also explained why he stated that there were 6,200 commissioners and directors entrusted with BUMN. According to him, he made this statement because all processes were carried out in a closed manner.
"Aren't these deposits a consequence of the absence of a non-transparent recruitment system. ... As far as I know, the closed corporate culture is a corporate culture that was born from the new order mindset," he said.
Furthermore, this member of the DPR RI also answered the statement by the special staff of the Minister of BUMN, Arya Sinulingga, who stated that he did not understand about corporations because he questioned the reasons for the closed election of directors and commissioners of state-owned companies.
Adian considered Arya's statement a big mistake. This is because, so far, there have been a number of state-owned companies that have announced vacancies for commissioners and directors such as Perusda Pasar Surya, PT Patralog, PT Bank Jatim, and PT Jateng Petro Energi.
"From the example above, the statement that there has never been a vacancy for corporate directors or commissioners that has been announced publicly is certainly a big mistake or very acute ignorance," he said.
Previously, the special staff of the Minister of BUMN, Arya Sinulingga stated that Adian's statement was a blunder. Adian, he said, embarrassed himself with a misstatement caused by ignorance of the process of filling the position of company leadership.
"I can say that Adian has made many blunders because he does not understand corporate culture," Arya told reporters in Jakarta, Friday.
In corporate culture, said Arya, a company never openly opens vacancies for directors and commissioners positions. This does not only apply to BUMN, but all companies.
"Which company has ever opened job vacancies for directors or commissioners in the media or announced publicly," he said.
He also asked to check it. "Just try, check any companies in the world. (Adian's statement) is funny, I see. There may be one, two (companies), but rarely," he added.
