Metro TV Editor's Father Does Not Accept His Child Declared Suicide

JAKARTA - The father of Metro TV editor Yodi Prabowo, Suwandi, did not accept the results of the police investigation which stated that his son was thought to have died from a suicide attempt.

"It is suspected that my child committed suicide. But, as a parent, I am frankly disappointed by the conclusion because it is impossible for my child to commit suicide," said Suwandi to reporters, Saturday, July 25.

Suwandi also responded to the police statement about the trigger for suicide. In the forensic examination of Yodi's body, it was discovered that he had consumed amphetamines or substances in drugs that can affect the nervous system in humans. The effect of taking amphetamines is a sense of calm, pleasure, and courage.

Then, before ending his life, Yodi was stated to have consulted a doctor for skin and venereal diseases and then underwent an HIV test. This is what triggers Yodi to kill himself by repeatedly stabbing his chest and slashing his neck.

In Suwandi's observations, before he died his son did not show signs of depression. "He does not show depression. In fact, he is still working and still wants to take his mother to a good massage place. I think (as) a layman, if he is depressed, he at least can't work," said Suwandi.

As is known, the Head of Criminal Investigation of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Tubagus Ade Hidayat stated that Yodi was strongly suspected of having died from suicide.

"Investigators have concluded that until now it is strongly suspected that the person concerned committed suicide. From several factors or expert explanations, witness testimony, crime scene evidence and other information, the investigator concludes that the suspect is strongly suspected of having committed suicide," said Tubagus.

However, Tubagus said that his party was still open to other possible facts that could be disclosed. The thing that underlies Yodi's allegation of suicide is evidence in the form of a knife used as a means of injuring. Based on the search results, the knife is owned by Yodi.

Yodi was found dead on Friday, July 10 on the side of the JORR Toll Road, Ulujami, Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta. Yodi was found dead by suicide after three days of missing. The witness found Yodi's body wearing a green jacket, black pants, black sling bag, wearing shoes and still wearing a helmet.

From the results of the examination, Yodi died from stab wounds to his chest and neck. The Polda Metro Jaya forensic laboratory has examined the fingerprints and DNA on a knife found around Yodi's body. From the results of the examination, it was found that only the victim's fingerprints and DNA were found on the knife.
