JAKARTA - A number of traders and consumers at the Bintan Center Market in Tanjungpinang City, Riau Islands, have not implemented health protocols to prevent transmission of COVID-19.
Head of the Tanjungpinang Health Office Rustam, reminded traders and consumers to obey health protocols in their activities on the grounds that COVID-19 transmission still occurs in this city.
He also reminded traders and consumers that there are sanctions imposed on violators of the new normal adaptation stipulated in the Regulation of the Mayor of Tanjungpinang Number 29/2020. This sanction does not only apply to individuals, but also business actors.
"The implementation of health protocols is an obligation that must be implemented in implementing new habits during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is for personal, family and community interests so it must be carried out by every individual and business actor," he said as quoted by Antara, Saturday, July 25.
Rustam explained that the imposition of sanctions against individuals and business actors for violations of Perwako Number 29/2020, consists of verbal and written warnings for individuals. Meanwhile, business actors receive sanctions in the form of verbal warning, written warning, temporary closure of activities, and revocation of permanent permits.
"If you repeatedly violate health and health protocols, do not think about the safety of yourself and others, you will be given strict sanctions," he said.
Rustam appealed to the public and business actors to continue implementing health protocols such as wearing masks, maintaining distance when interacting and diligently washing hands with soap.
Regarding the problems found in Bintan Center Market and other areas, Rustam said that his party would coordinate with cross-sector disciplinary enforcement teams involving the TNI, Polri, BPBD, Satpol PP, Dinkes, community leaders, religious leaders, local area leaders, NGOs, and business actors. .
