President Jokowi And Iriana's Swab Test Negative For COVID-19

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo delivered the results of the specimen test from the COVID-19 swab test he did yesterday afternoon. Jokowi said the results of his examination showed negative for the corona virus.

"Last night, the results of the swab test came out. Alhamdulillah it was negative. Ibu (Iriana) was also negative," said Jokowi in a statement from the Press, Media and Information Bureau, Presidential Secretariat, Saturday, July 25.

When informed of this, Jokowi was exercising in the morning by cycling in the area of the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java. The former Governor of DKI reported that his condition is in good health.

"Alhamdulillah, I am healthy. This morning I am exercising, cycling, so that my body is healthier so that my immunity will be better," he said.

Furthermore, Jokowi again reminded the public to be disciplined in implementing the COVID-19 prevention protocol. Because, said Jokowi, it played an important role in accelerating the handling of the pandemic by the government.

"I repeatedly invite people to maintain body immunity by exercising regularly, eating nutritious food, don't forget to wear a mask, wash your hands after activities, don't get into the crowd, and keep your distance. That is the most important thing we must keep, "he said.

Yesterday, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) conducted a swab test faster than usual. This was done after he met the Deputy Mayor of Solo, Achmad Purnomo, who was confirmed positive for COVID-19 after undergoing two swab tests.

"The president and all apparatuses will immediately speed up the swab test schedule. The President's schedule is indeed a routine medical test today," said Head of Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono.

However, he remains confident that the President and his staff and staff at the Presidential Palace remain safe from COVID-19. Moreover, the result of his swab was negative.

"I am sure and I hope that the palace will remain sterile. For example, I just swabed yesterday and the results were negative and I often and every day interact with the President," he said.

This belief, continued Heru, is increasing because every time he receives a guest, the former Governor of DKI Jakarta always applies health protocols.

"Apart from that, guests who enter the palace must have a rapid test and the President and his equipment routinely carry out swabs," he said.
