Golkar Watch Thomas Cup Together, Airlangga's Prayer for Indonesia to Win
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Golkar Party Airlangga mobilized DPP officials to watch together the final match of the 2020 Thomas Cup Indonesia against China at the DPP Office, Jakarta, Sunday, October 17. In fact, Airlangga should have chaired the plenary meeting of the party bearing the banyan tree in preparation for the 57th anniversary of Golkar.
However, Airlangga postponed the meeting and instructed all management to support the Indonesian team in the Thomas Cup.
"Tonight we have a plenary meeting, but I said, let's just celebrate first, give prayers and support for Indonesia in the Thomas Cup final," Airlangga told reporters on the sidelines of the Thomas Cup final.
The Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs added that he and Golkar continue to support the progress of national sports. According to him, sport is one way to make Indonesia's name fragrant in the eyes of the international community.
"We will always support sports, because sport is an event that can raise the red and white flag and sing the anthem Indonesia Raya abroad," he said.
Airlangga's prayers and support bore sweet fruit. Anthony Sinitsuka Ginting et al managed to win the Thomas Cup after slaughtering China 3-0.
On the sidelines of the Thomas Cup ceremony, Airlangga explained that one of the things that would be discussed in the plenary meeting related to the 57th Anniversary of the Golkar Party this year would be carrying the theme 'United to Win'. He admitted that Golkar had already made a road map to 2024.
