COVID-19 Update As of October 17: 747 New Cases from 223,929 Specimens and 131 in DKI
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today or Sunday, October 17. A total of 223,929 specimens were examined today and the results were the addition of 747 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4,234,758 people and 18,388 active cases," according to data from the Ministry of Health.
Today's recovered cases increased by 1,086 cases so that a total of 4,073,418 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 19 people and a total of 142,952 people.
The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 131 cases and a total of 860,145 cases. Followed by Central Java which has 87 new cases with a total of 483,948 cases. West Java has 70 new cases and a total of 704,470 cases. Then, East Java has 60 new cases and a total of 397,343 cases.
The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 130 recovered cases. Followed by Central Java with an increase of 110 recovered cases, North Kalimantan with an additional 99 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 88 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 43,387,603.
"Positive results per number of people examined or this week's positivity rate of 0.69 percent," he wrote.
The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 492,928 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.
Furthermore, currently, there are 107,503,228 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 62,732,568 the second dose of vaccination. Then, the third dose of vaccination was 1,070,061. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
