Airlangga Hartarto Not Yet Popular, Golkar: People Don't Like Publication And His Kindness Is Rarely Known
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Golkar Party DPP Dedi Mulyadi admits Golkar Party Chairman Airlangga Hartarto is not yet popular as a presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election. Even though there have been many good things that have been done for the progress of the nation.
"Why (Airlangga Hartarto, ed) isn't very popular yet? Because Pak Airlangga is a person who doesn't like publicity and people do good things but his kindness is rarely known," said Dedi in the discussion 'Two Decades of Golkar's Victory' quoted from YouTube Friends Airlangga on Sunday, October 17th.
Seeing this condition, he asked Golkar Party cadres to help popularize Airlangga Hartarto to the public. Dedi wants the figure of the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet to be packaged as a good person.
With this pattern, he believes that Airlangga's level of popularity will increase and have an impact on the electability of the Golkar party.
"I think Airlangga is a good person, if this level of popularity continues to increase, then his liking is getting higher, it will also have an electoral effect on Golkar," said the Deputy Chairman of Commission IV of the DPR RI.
Furthermore, Dedi said that his party has often failed in presenting its representative figures. In fact, despite the convention, this failure still continues.
However, this did not have a major impact on the party bearing the banyan symbol. The reason is that Golkar always has a party system and infrastructure that begins with strong grass roots.
"Golkar can still survive even though it doesn't have a strong figure because the system is good, the infrastructure network to the village is there," he concluded.
Airlangga is Golkar's Champion in the Presidential Election
The chairman of Golkar's DPP Ace Hasan Syadzily emphasized that until now Golkar has remained firmly in its position of supporting General Chair Airlangga Hartarto to compete in the 2024 presidential election. This decision has become a unanimous decision at the 2019 national meeting (Munas).
"Confirming that the Golkar Party wants to support Mr. Airlangga Hartarto as a candidate for President of the Republic of Indonesia in 2024," said Ace.
Ace emphasized that the decision was not Airlangga's wish, but the aspirations of all National Conference participants. Starting from the district to the provincial level. On that basis, said Ace, the decision is an organizational decision that must be secured by all cadres.
"This decision has been reaffirmed at the national leadership meeting and at the 2021 national working meeting in March," explained the chairman of Commission VIII of the DPR.
