Metro TV Editor Yodi Prabowo Buys His Own Knife To Kill Himself

JAKARTA - The police have evidence that confirms that Metro TV Editor, Yodi Prabowo, killed himself. The knife used as a killing tool was actually bought by Yodi himself.

Based on the results of the investigation and processing of the scene of the case, Direskrimum Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Tubagus Ade Hidayat said Yodi bought the knife on July 7 before committing his suicide.

Yodi bought a knife at Ace Hardware Rempoa, Ciputat, Tangerang at 14:20 WIB. In the police investigation, an image of a figure with clothes that was very similar to Yodi was captured on CCTV on Ace Hardware.

"The knife has a special Ace Hardware trademark. Then an inspection was carried out. When buying the knife, the person caught on CCTV and the clothes used were all the same as those when the body was found," Tubagus said at Polda Metro Jaya, Saturday, July 25th.

From the CCTV footage, Yodi entered Ace Hardware and went straight to the knife selling rack. He seemed silent for 2 minutes to choose which knife to buy, then went to the cashier to pay.

"When he entered and left, only 8 minutes later went to the parking lot and left the place to go to his office. That means, from that fact, only one thing was sought in the shop, namely a knife," said Tubagus.

This is confirmed by proof of purchase receipts found and CCTV at the entrance to the Ace Hardware parking lot until they left the location after buying the knife.

Regarding the possibility of other people buying the same knife as Yodi, Tubagus said Ace Hardware officials admitted that only one knife of this type had been sold in the past week, which was bought by Yodi.

"Then it was discovered that the one who bought this knife was the victim himself," he said.

Yodi was found dead on Friday, July 10 on the side of the JORR Toll Road, Ulujami, Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta. Yodi was found dead by suicide after three days of missing. The witness found Yodi's body wearing a green jacket, black pants, black sling bag, wearing shoes and still wearing a helmet.

From the results of the examination, Yodi died from stab wounds to his chest and neck. The Polda Metro Jaya forensic laboratory has examined the fingerprints and DNA on a knife found around Yodi's body. From the results of the examination, it was found that only the victim's fingerprints and DNA were found on the knife.
