Completed Repair, PLN Ensures Electricity Supply To Bali There Are No Constraints
JAKARTA - PLN's Eastern Java & Bali Transmission Main Unit (UIT JBM) has ensured that the electricity network to Bali will no longer be hampered, following the completion of repairs to IBT #1 at the Paiton Extra High Voltage Substation (GITET).
"Just on September 14, we started work on replacing IBT #1 Paiton to maintain reliable electricity supply to Bali. This IBT supplies 272 MW of electrical energy which is distributed to the Situbondo GI to the Banyuwangi GI and then to Bali with a power of 225.3 MW ," said General Manager of PLN UIT JBM, Suroso, quoting Antara, Saturday, October 16.
He emphasized that after completing the IBT #3 Grati extension, PLN UIT JBM replaced and energized IBT #1.
Currently, he continued, the network to Bali has a voltage of 500/150 KV with a power capacity of 500 MVA, with the work of replacing IBT #1 Paiton taking place for three weeks since mid-September.
During the completion of the work, he added, as many as 51 personnel were deployed so that the work could be carried out faster.
Suroso ensures that the operation of IBT #1 Paiton will greatly assist the electricity subsystem in Bali, which has a peak load of 650 MW.
"To distribute it to Bali, we use an underwater cable from Cable Head (CH) Ketapang to CH Gilimanuk with a voltage of 150 KV," said Suroso.
PLN, he continued, will always provide the best service for customers, so that maintenance work must be carried out on all electrical infrastructure in order to remain optimal in maintaining reliability.
