Satpol PP Gives Written Warning To Subway Citos That Generate Crowds
JAKARTA - The South Jakarta Civil Service Police Unit gave a written warning to the owner of the Subway fast food business at the Cilandak Town Square (Citos) Mall, for allowing crowds of visitors during its inaugural operation.
Head of the South Jakarta Satpol PP Ujang Harmawan said that together with the DKI Jakarta Satpol PP he had submitted the warning letter to the Subway management.
"Yes, we together with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Satpol PP officers gave a written warning," said Ujang, quoted by Antara, Friday, October 15
Ujang said his unit had checked the crowd that occurred in the morning on the first day of operation and ensured that the situation at the location was under control in the afternoon.
The Satpol PP also reminded the owners of subway outlets to continue prioritizing health protocols to anticipate the spread of COVID-19.
"We checked there, there was a crowd because it coincided with the 'launch' which was attended by the (United States) ambassador to Indonesia and staff," he said.
"We remind business owners. Then the buyers there are flowing, lining up, we remind them to keep running the prokes," he added.
The Indonesian Subway Outlets will reopen starting Friday, October 15. The first location of the largest sandwich restaurant from the United States is located on the 1st floor of Cilandak Town Square (Citos), South Jakarta.
The reopening of fast food outlets from the United States was welcomed by residents, causing a crowd.
The crowds and long queues at Subway had become the subject of conversation among netizens on Twitter.
One of the Twitter accounts that uploaded the crowd situation, namely, @nuicemedia. In his post, the account shared several photos showing the crowd due to the long queue of Subway visitors.
