Bareskrim Polri Destroys 48 Million Items Of Illegal Hard Drugs In DIY
YOGYAKARTA - The Directorate of Narcotics Crime, Bareskrim Polri, held the destruction of evidence in the form of millions of pills of illegal hard drugs at the Yogyakarta Special Region Police Headquarters (DIY).
The evidence that was destroyed consisted of 48,188,000 pills and 8,465 kilograms of raw materials for illegal drugs confiscated from illegal drug factories in Yogyakarta on September 21-22.
"The destruction of evidence that we carried out today (Friday) is an inseparable part of the investigation process that we carried out some time ago in this case the Directorate of Drug Crimes in collaboration with the DIY Police," said Deputy Director of the Directorate of Drug Crimes, Bareskrim Kombes Jayadi, as quoted by Antara. Between, Friday, October 15th.
However, not all of the destruction of evidence was carried out at the DIY Regional Police Headquarters. Most of the illegal drugs will be destroyed in the city of Semarang, Central Java.
"In Yogyakarta there is no adequate waste treatment facility to destroy quite a lot of evidence," he said.
Destruction of evidence, he said, is a form of Polri's responsibility for the process of revealing cases of production and distribution of dangerous drugs in the networks of West Java, DKI, East Java, and South Kalimantan so that the public knows that the evidence that was confiscated some time ago had been destroyed.
Jayadi said that the disclosure of the case was the result of the collaboration between the Bareskrim Polri and the Yogyakarta Regional Police and other agencies so that they could uncover the production of illegal drugs located in two factories, namely in Kasihan District, Bantul District, and Gamping District, Sleman Regency, DIY.
He said when the two illegal drug factories were still operating like normal warehouses. The suspects do not carry out activities during certain hours so that the surrounding community considers the place to be rarely used.
"In fact, if we go inside, there is a production process and there are equipment used to process raw materials into finished materials," he said.
So far, the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police has arrested 23 suspects. Three of them, namely WZA, LSK, and JSR were presented at the DIY Police Headquarters during the destruction of evidence.
"We don't just stop at the factory in DIY. The suspect we have secured here is the development of a long investigation process," Jayadi said.
