Help Rachel Vennya Escape TNI FS Personnel Disabled, Kodam Jaya Evaluates Total Quarantine Procedures
JAKARTA - Kodam Jaya has disabled an individual member of the TNI with the initials FS who is suspected of helping organize Rachel Vennya's program to escape quarantine after returning from the United States.
"The person in question (FS) has been deactivated to be returned to the unit," said Head of Information for the Jaya Kodam Air Defense Artillery Colonel (Arh) Herwin BS in Jakarta, Antara, Friday, October 15.
FS was disabled since last Thursday to facilitate the investigation process which is now handled by the military police. Kodam Jaya is not playing games in this case considering that this military agency is the Command of the COVID-19 Integrated Joint Task Force.
FS, which is part of the Security Task Force at Soekarno Hatta International Airport, allegedly arranged for Rachel Vennya's program to escape quarantine after returning from abroad.
"During the investigation of the case, it was found that there were allegations of non-procedural actions by unscrupulous members of the Soetta Airport Security (TNI) with the initials FS," said Colonel Herwin.
In the aftermath of the case, Kodam Jaya conducted an investigation from upstream to downstream, starting from when he arrived at the airport to the RSDC Wisma Atlet Pademangan.
In addition to deactivating its members, Kodam Jaya also evaluates all COVID-19 centralized quarantine sites to ensure quarantine procedures apply to every Indonesian citizen (WNI).
"The evaluation is still in process because the Pangdam ordered us to do an overall evaluation, be it the airport, (Rusun) Pademangan, Wisma RSDC and our centralized isolation place in the Nagrak Flat or other flats," said Herwin.
Pangdam Jaya Maj. Gen. Mulyo Aji will establish a strict mechanism for quarantine procedures for Indonesian citizens traveling from abroad.
"Everything will be evaluated. We will see later that the Pangdam will develop a more stringent mechanism," said Herwin.
