Metallica Print Best Debut On Mainstream Rock Songs Chart
JAKARTA - Metallica made the highest debut on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs chart in the last five years. The S & M² version of the song All Within My Hands takes No. 12.
The song recorded during the Metallica and San Francisco Symphony concerts on 6 and September 2019 at the Chase Center in San Francisco was the highest debut on the Mainstream Rock charts since Shinedown's Cut The Cord debuted at No. 9 in 2015.
S & M² is a historic concert on many levels. These two concerts served as the opening of the Grand Chase Center in San Francisco, reuniting Metallica and Symphony for the first time since a 1999 performance recorded on the Grammy-winning S&M album. The show also featured symphonic songs written and released since S&M's first show.
S & M² concert tickets were sold out. As many as 40 thousand fans traveled from nearly 70 countries. No wonder a number of media gave positive comments.
Rolling Stone magazine said Metallica proved that anything is possible. Variety wrote that the concert atmosphere was full of joy. Meanwhile, Mercury News said that the concert would be discussed by fans for the next few decades. The Consequence Of Sound praised, stating, "Metallica's true celebration and their musical prowess."

S & M² is an important release in the Metallica catalog, both sonically and visually. Produced by Greg Fidelman with James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich, the S & M² concert album captures the performances of James, Lars, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo joined by the nearly 80 members of the San Francisco Symphony, musical director for legendary orchestral Michael Tilson Thomas, and conductor Edwin Outwater during more than two and a half hours
This concert film is the latest edited by Joe Hutching (Through The Never). Both audio and visuals were shown in more than 3700 theaters around the world in October last year.
