Rokan Block Production Targeted At 200 Thousand Barrels Per Day In 2023, Minister Of Energy And Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif: More Drilling Of New Wells Must Do
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Arifin Tasrif, hopes that Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) oil production can increase to 200 thousand barrels per day by 2023.
"The trick is to drill a lot of new wells, and this will continue to be improved in the future," said Arifin during a working visit (kunker) in the PHR working area in the Minas area of Siak Regency, Riau, quoted from Antara, Friday, October 15.
According to him, another effort to achieve the set target is to use new technology as one of the implemented monitoring systems that can save time and save costs.
The new technology, he said, is expected to be able to detect problems that occur in the field so that corrective steps can be taken.
"This technology uses the latest information technology," he said.
In the presence of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Arifin Tasrif, Governor of Riau, Syamsuar encouraged Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) workers to continue to give their best to increase oil production in the Rokan Block working area.
"We support the increase in productivity related to this oil and gas. With the arrival of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources at this time, we hope that PHR workers can be motivated to continue to be enthusiastic," he said.
In addition, Syamsuar explained that currently a substitute for B30 type B30 biodiesel mixed with palm oil-based biodiesel has been in Riau since 2019.
"Currently, the processing of fuel substitutes has actually been in Riau since 2019. It was inaugurated at Pertamina Dumai. It will be developed into B50 to B100, as expected by President Joko Widodo," said Syamsuar.
B30 is an alternative energy to replace BBM to increase energy security and independence. In addition, to increase the added value of the palm oil industry and reduce consumption and imports of fuel, as well as reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
