Bogor Regent Suggests Ex Missing Nature Peak Building To Be Used As RTH

CIBINONG - Bogor Regent Ade Yasin proposed to the West Java Provincial Government to make the building of the former Rindu Alam Restaurant in the Puncak area a green open space (RTH).

"The period of use for restaurants has not been extended (early 2020), he said he wants to be used as a conservation area. After all, there are many tourist sites in Puncak," he said in Cibinong, Bogor, quoted by Antara, Thursday, October 14.

According to him, the building which is located at an altitude of 1,444 meters above sea level (MDPL) will provide many benefits in flood control, when its function is returned as a conservation area.

"I still support being managed again by the West Java Provincial Government because it is indeed their asset. But just return it as a conservation function," explained Ade Yasin.

Likewise, the Deputy Regent of Bogor, Iwan Setiawan, welcomed the West Java Provincial Government's plan to re-manage the building of the former Rindu Alam Restaurant, which had been abandoned for a long time.

He admitted that he did not mind if the building was re-functioned as a place to eat because it was named Rindu Alam because it was known to the public as one of the icons of the Puncak area, Bogor.

"In order to increase tourist attraction, on behalf of the Bogor Regency Government, I welcome the plan to redevelop the restaurant or the Rindu Alam area. Whether it be a culinary tourism spot, a souvenir center or others," said Iwan, who is also a community leader in the Puncak area.

Previously, the West Java Provincial Government planned to revive tourism in the Rindu Alam area, Puncak Bogor, to generate local revenue in the context of post-COVID-19 economic recovery.

"The West Java Provincial Government is trying to reuse the Rindu Alam tourist area to increase PAD," said Deputy Governor of West Java Uu Ruzhanul Ulum after reviewing the tourist area on Jalan Raya Puncak Gadog KM 89, Tugu Selatan Village, Cisarua District, Bogor Regency, Monday, 11. October.
