1,697 Joint Personnel Secures Closure Of XX Papua PON

JAYAPURA - Papua Police Chief Inspector General Mathius Fakhiri said as many as 1,697 joint personnel will be deployed to secure the closure of XX Papua PON. The closing is planned to be carried out by Vice President KH Ma'ruf Amin on Friday, October 15, tomorrow.

According to him, the thousands of personnel deployed are only for rings two and three, while the security for the Vice President will be carried out by the TNI.

"The security for VVIP is carried out by the TNI, while other joint personnel are deployed to secure rings two and three," said Inspector General Fakhiri in Jayapura, quoted by Antara, Thursday, October 14.

The Kapolda confirmed that until now the security and security situation in the four clusters where the XX Papua PON is being held is relatively safe.

He revealed that there were no prominent incidents during the implementation of the PON, which was scheduled to end Friday, October 15. The closure will be centered at the Lukas Enembe Stadium, Kampung Harapan, Sentani.

"Thank you to all the people of Papua, especially those in the four clusters for being good hosts," said Fakhiri.

Meanwhile, Dandrem 172/PVY Brigadier General Izak Pangemanan, separately said to secure the visit of the Vice President who will close PON XX, 1,445 personnel will be deployed.

"A total of around 4,000 TNI-Polri personnel were deployed to secure the closure of PON XX," said Izak.
