Subhanallah, Faradihila Will Use The Papuan PON Bonus To Send Grandma To The Holy Land And Build A Mosque

JAKARTA - Papuan sea diver athlete Faradihila A. Hehanusa revealed his plan to use part of the bonus for the XX Papua National Sports Week (PON) to donate to the construction of a mosque after ensuring that he won the underwater gold underwater orientation number (OBA) 5 Point Putri.

"The bonus for going on pilgrimage to grandmother is the same as donating the construction of a mosque," Faradihila told Antara, Thursday.

At the release of the PON contingent, the Governor of Papua Province, Lukas Enembe, had promised a bonus of Rp. 1 billion for the gold medal.

This medal is the first gold for Faradihila, who is also participating in the biggest multi-event sporting event in Indonesia.

Successfully winning the Women's 5 Point OBA number, the 18-year-old diver said that the joys and sorrows of undergoing training for two years had finally paid off.

Meanwhile, in the men's number, Papua also won gold through Verry Dwi Irjayanto. Similar to Faradihila, Verry also wants to use the PON bonus for worship.

"I once had a vow, so if I could I would like to go on Umrah with my family," said Verry.

PON Papua this time became the third PON for Verry. At the previous PON in West Java, the athlete who has a Navy background managed to bring home gold, and now he has also managed to defend his title as the winner of the Men's 5 Point OBA marine diving PON.

Despite having previous experience in PON and having the advantage as a host to be able to train in the same arena, Verry still faces obstacles.

"Maybe it's the same as the others, for sure we are under the flow of the game, because this is a new field. Indeed, we often practice here, but for the new sign position we are the same as the other contingents, maybe it's just the flow," said the 37-year-old athlete.

The marine diving sport ended today after the day lasted for four days since Monday (11/10) by competing in a total of eight numbers.
