Already Got A 5G Network? Try The Speed Test Through These 5 Applications!

JAKARTA - Indonesia has entered the current 5G era. Although not yet comprehensive, some regions can already enjoy this new super-fast network. However, is it really proven fast?

For those of you who are curious, how fast and smooth the 5G network is in your area, it can be proven by testing it on the following applications that VOI summarized from Digital Trends, Thursday, October 14. It should be noted, you can use this application on Android and iOS, yes!

Meteor OpenSignal

One of the best 5G connection testing applications belongs to OpenSignal's Meteor. Having a theme that is quite comfortable for your eyes, this application has a powerful set of tools to support it. Not too complicated, you can use this application easily.

You'll be presented with download, upload and ping speeds on 5G networks near you, but most importantly, it will also give you details on how your 5G connection will work across different apps, including YouTube, Slack, and Netflix.

Interestingly, you can take the test in different locations and compare your speed in the Maps sub-menu. On the Maps menu, it only shows your connection speed, and no details on where you'll find 5G network locations, but if you want to know how your 5G connection will handle different apps, this is a great tool.

Speedtest

Who does not know this application? Not a few people test their network with Speedtest because it proves to be quite accurate. Ookla's Speedtest also has an application that is very easy to test, you just need to press a button to get started.

But what's even more interesting about this app is that the data will appear after you test it. If you give the app permission to access your location data more often, and you will help contribute to a huge data map.

Access the Maps sub-menu, and you'll be able to see where you can access 5G, LTE, and other connections on different networks. This is especially useful if you want to try your new 5G connection. There's also a VPN built into the app, so you can keep your data safe on the go.

Nperf Speed Test

The application that looks the most luxurious is also claimed to be quite accurate. Not only will it test the speed and stability of your network, but it will also access various websites and streaming videos to really test your connection.

You'll also get a score of 100 on the browsing and streaming power of your connection. As such, it's a very complete device, without even mentioning data that lets you see where 5G and LTE connections are near you, with different maps for different carriers.

Network Analyzer

If you want to go deeper into your connection statistics, then give Network Analyzer a try. Available for both iOS and Android, it provides all the information you could possibly need. You will be able to see your signal strength, your various addresses, connection type, and more.

There is also a tool to ping websites, so you can see your ping strength in real time. However, you will only get the lite version of this tool for free, while the Pro version will cost you 4 US dollars.

Cell Tower Location

If you really want to know in depth about which cell tower you're connecting to, try using the Cell Tower Location app. This will take a few permissions to work, but once running, the app will immediately take you to a map and show you exactly where your nearest tower is and how far away you are, with a fairly high degree of accuracy.

Its use is limited unless you're into network testing, but it's still nice to know where your 5G network is located. Unfortunately, it's only available on Android, as iOS doesn't support tools like this.
